MaineCompact :
MaineCompact
For those Mainers dedicating themselves to living away from the
consumer grid. Make a compact with yourself to no longer buy from
large chain stores, to only buy used items or to barter and swap
away.
The national Compact asks we do it for 12 months but this group is
for those of us willing to start our commitment at 3 months and
continue on.
If you enjoy groups like Freecycle, or Cheapcycle or if you prefer
to do all your shopping at resale shops and yard sales....this group
is for you.
Joining this egroup does not commit you to implementing all the
ideals we discuss. The purpose is solely as a forum to help you set
your own goals.
Feel free to post anything from local resources to free events and
websites on subjects relating to sustainability. We can discuss
ethics of consumerism, swapping and anything related to off grid
consumers.
Note: I think you have to be a member of

freecycletopshamme : FreecycleTopshamME
Freecycle (TM)
TopshamME Freecycle Network, where one person's trash is another's treasure!
FreecycleTopshamME serving Sagadahoc County, Brunswick and surrounding towns
in Maine. If you are nearby, please join us!
Connect with people who are throwing away items you want, or who want what
you have to throw away -- and have fun in the process! No item is too big or
too small; but since this is a FREEcycle list, all items must be 100% FREE.
Who can participate? Any individual, group or business. Simply join to post,
include your Zip Code in your reason for joining.
Freecycle...one simple idea that's changing the world one gift at a time.
The TopshamME Freecycle Network is modeled after the Tucson Freecycle
Network, the original Freecycle. Find out more about the VERY fast-growing
international movement at Freecycle.org
and spread the word!

Cheapcycle_Groups : Master List of Cheapcycle Groups
A Cheapcycle group is a locally owned
and moderated online site for buying, selling, or trading in your
local area - much like classified ads. Cheapcycle Groups is a
listing of moderated sales groups that have chosen to be listed
here. A group does not have to use the Cheapcycle name to qualify to
be listed.
To find a group near you, click on "Messages" on the left, find the
"search" box, type in the name of your state or country and then
click "Go". If you don't see a group in your area, it doesn't mean
there isn't one. Send us an
email
and include your location (city, county and state) and we will check
our database to try and find the group nearest you. If there is no
group in your area, you can open one and we'll be glad to help you
get started!!

MAMA_Network :
M.A.M.A Network
The M.A.M.A Network (Mother's
Activist Movement Alliance) is a diverse group of mothers whose
various interests have led us to become socially active in our
communties. In reaching out to other moms and coming together as a
community we hope to harness this incredible force for social
change. We come together under the M.A.M.A Network alligned in
knowing that there is strength in numbers.
Promoting issues such as, (but not limited to) social justice,
breastfeeding, attatchment parenting, conservation, simplicity and
media awareness; we believe as mothers we have an unprecedented
ability to positively influence our world.
Holding one view of the network does not neccessitate holding all
views. We all agree to sometimes disagree and are inspired by one
another's efforts!
We welcome you to bring your area of interest or expertise to our
network and help us build a brighter future! Share your stories,
network with others, inspire each other, brainstorm together -have
fun!

Simply_Live :
Simply Live
Welcome to Simply Live! Isn't that
what we would all love to do? Yet, the rise and spread of consumer
culture and the loss of community seem to make this seemingly simple
request increasingly difficult. However, there is hope! Through the
exchange of ideas and support we hope to empower each other to live
a more simple life and in turn allow fellow inhabitants of the earth
to Simply Live.
Here at Simply Live discussions may include, but are not limited to,
money and time management, home life, self sustainability, social
and environmental sustainability and global and political issues;
all within the framework of simplicity.
