Mr. Rich has provided a lengthy
comment on the school board action and withdrawal.

To whom it may concern in
Harpswell:
I find it strange that the Harpswell Board of Directors will agree to meet now
but would not explain why Harpswell was unfairly and unnecessarily assessed
costs under LD1. These are the directors who would not stand up for the
transition phase in of LD1. Why should you believe them?

I think Dee's comment below is very
positive. I am relieved to think the Selectmen are interested in an
investigation.

I don't think the selectmen are "urging" Harpswell to leave SAD
75.
They are concerned about the great disparity in the cost sharing
formula and EPS. They are willing to take the lead in investigating all of the
facts and figures to help Harpswell voters decide whether leaving SAD 75 is the
right way to go.
The petition at the stores is just the first step to see if folks
are willing to take a look at both sides of the story.
We should all take comfort in knowing that the legislature had
time this year to pass a bill on the important subject of making Moxie our
official state drink...made I believe in SC. While meaningful tax reform sits
on the back burner.

I was surprised to read in in the Times Record that the Selectmen are
urging that Harpswell leave SADD 75. I have no idea whether or not it is
a good idea or not. However, I certainly hope the Selectmen do their
share to prevent the issue from becoming divisive, as well as provide us
with all the information we need to make an informed decision. Given
their performance in the past. (Charter, LNG). that may be wishful
thinking. I believe the citizens of Harpswell need to begin asking their
own questions and acquiring information as soon as possible.
I will be happy to post any questions or information that will help
promote understanding. Please help by sending your comments. questions
